Purpose of the Job

The goal is to raise the profile of the Commercial division to achieve the company’s objective of being the business insurance provider of choice by providing professional, knowledgeable commercial insurance advice to clients.

The Commercial Account Handler plays a key role in managing Commercial Client Accounts, ensuring their Commercial Insurance needs are met.

Job Accountabilities:

Customer:

  • Preparing Broking Presentations for New & Existing Clients
  • Provide expert and prompt advice to new and existing customers regarding their insurance needs and identifying any additional covers they may benefit from.
  • Liaise as appropriate with insurer partners.
  • Identify new prospects through networking and market research.
  • Maximise all sales opportunities including prospect generation and cross selling.
  • Achievement of monthly/annual targets
  • Be a corporate ambassador and by presenting a professional image of self and AbbeyAutoline at all times.

 Customer Service:

  •  Maintain the highest quality of customer service levels by prompt, customer-focused, professional servicing of client accounts by efficient Mid-Term-Adjustments and customer queries.
  • File Management - ensure individual client cases are completed promptly, effectively, accurately and fully.
  • Ensure client confidentiality is maintained and protected at all costs.
  • Adhere to the Central Bank regulations and requirements.
  • Provide cover for commercial team colleagues when necessary.
  • Handling of customer complaints in accordance with company procedures

Other Functions/Responsibilities

  • Undertake training and Professional Development as necessary for the performance of the role.
  •  Attendance at promotional exhibitions and external meetings outside company hours as required.
  • Be an effective, willing and enthusiastic team player in the development of the commercial business in addition to the success of the company as a whole.

General Duties

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety procedures
  • To comply with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements, including:-
    • Maintain Central Bank compliance at all times which requires you to act honestly, ethically and with integrity at all times and manage own financial affairs in a sound and prudent manner.
    • Compliance with ROI F&P and MCC policies and processes.
  • Maintain CPD (Continuing Professional Development) on an ongoing basis as applicable for role.
  • Maintain and enhance the Company’s reputation through excellent standards of professional conduct, in line with Company policy and procedures, compliance and Core Values.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety procedures.
  • Strictly maintain client confidentiality.
  • Any other duties that can reasonably be requested by the Manager or representatives’ acting on behalf of and with the permission of the Manager.

Remuneration and Conditions of Employment

  • Competitive salary, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience
  • Hours of work; 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm

What you’ll be doing

We intend to become Northern Ireland’s insurance provider of choice. You’ll get us there by helping us win new customers and expertly manage the key accounts of existing clients.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the growth and development of the Commercial Insurance Business.
  • Providing expert and prompt advice to new and existing customers.
  • Identifying potential new customers through networking and market research.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service in order to build enduring professional client partnerships.
  • Achieving monthly/annually sales and growth/retention figures.
  • Reviewing client insurance portfolios.
  • Adhering to FCA regulations and requirements.
  • Attending events and meetings outside company hours as required.

The role: at a glance

• This is a critical sales and support role that is heavily focused on clients. There are no budgetary or staffing responsibilities.
• The Commercial division is seen as the growth area of the company, so this role demands a high level of initiative and dynamism from you.

Essential

2 A Levels or equivalent (A-C).
CII qualification.
Previous experience in commercial insurance sales.
